W h a t d o e s R i s e + R o a m o f f e r ?

We want the space to make both children + caregivers feel welcome, comfortable, and ignite curiosity + wonder when they enter. We hope that our space will become a regular part of families’ weekly routines. We want to be a staple business in our community where local families and visitors to our community enjoy coming. We hope to provide other local entrepreneurs with opportunities by having pop-up artisans events + allowing businesses to help support us in our efforts + represent their own names in our space .

Within our walls, we plan to offer :

• Gross motor areas + play structures

• A space for friendships to be made + built

• Variety of educational learning spaces + experiences

• Visual arts / Performing arts / Literary arts

• Lending library

• Community partnerships

• Party + event room rentals, starting in 2021

• Snack + coffee bar

W h y a r e we s o p a s s i o n a t e a b o u t o u r m i s s i o n + v i s i o n o f R i s e + R o a m ?

My passion for this project developed from my own experience of moving to a small town with young children, and not having a place to take them for play and to connect with other parents. I also know that there are so many other stay-at-home or work-from-home parents who have had the same experience. Knowing this, I am eager to help people reduce the isolation they may feel, and have more community connection. I also have a love for education and learning that stems from my career in teaching, and I am passionate about having the opportunity to share this with others through a community space. It fills me with joy and a sense of accomplishment to create environments where children can learn through experience and play / Emily Allen, R+R Cofounder

W h o a r e t h e f a c e s b e h i n d R i s e + R o a m ?

We are Katie + Emily + Kayla, the cofounders of Rise + Roam . We came together as a team in April 2019 after separately engaging the idea of an indoor play park. we have since added several additional staff members to our space - gabby + lauren + jetta + taylor ! these four help staff our weekday, weekend, and party shifts + share in our vision for rise + roam !

We want to provide a space that can be used year round for children to learn, interact, move, and use their creativity. Providing children with such experiences is an investment in their future as we know that the more they are given opportunities to play and be creative, the better they perform academically, and develop social skills that will benefit them for life. We also want to provide a space for parents where they can socialize with other parents, build and foster community connections, and get out of the house with their kids on cold, long winter days, or hot and humid summer days. Our target customer is families with children under the age of 10 who live in Litchfield and the surrounding communities.

We want Rise + Roam to be a part of the many other successful small businesses in Litchfield, contribute to the success +  well being of the children in this community, and provide parents and caregivers with opportunities to increase their social connections, thereby positively contributing to their mental health and overall well-being.
